Abstract: Nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centers in diamond enable quantum magnetometry through exceptional spin sensitivity and versatility. This seminar first explores spin dynamics under high off-axis magnetic fields via electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy, revealing spin-mixing phenomena modeled by a seven-level kinetic description. We then present scanned NV magnetometry for nanoscale imaging, leveraging all-optical sensing and relaxometry protocols to map magnetic structures and dynamics without microwave excitation. Finally, we investigate charge state dynamics through photoluminescence spectroscopy, employing spectral decomposition and temperature-dependent analysis via a nine-level kinetic model. These interconnected studies bridge fundamental NV physics with practical magnetometry applications.
